Phase 1 includes a fun four-day carbohydrate-free challenge to reset your eating habits and to encourage your body to use fats for energy/fuel.
Use the meal planner template, the portion guide and the recipes in this module to prepare for, and to implement Phase 1.
Following the four day reset you will introduce carbohydrates and continue to implement the recommended portion guides.
The recipes are provided to make meal planning easier, however if you have your own recipes or meals that align with the Midlife Nourish and Detox guidelines you may incorporate these instead.
Supporting healthy gut function
In Phase 2 of Midlife Nourish and Detox you will pay particular attention to your nourishing and healing your gut
You will:
1. Nourish and strengthen the lining of your gut
2. Encourage the growth of beneficial bacteria and crowd out the harmful bacteria in your gut.
3. Light your digestive fires!
Supporting healthy liver function
In Phase 3 of Midlife Nourish and Detox you will pay particular attention to your nourishing and healing your liver and associated detoxification pathways and processes
You will:
1. Focus on foods that support your liver.
2. Introduce teas and daily support for your liver.
3. Recommend supplements to support your detoxification pathways.
Supporting healthy adrenal function
In Phase 4 of Midlife Nourish and Detox you will pay particular attention to nourishing and healing your adrenal glands and thus, your hormones.
You will:
1. Nourish your adrenal glands with food and supplements.
2. Learn about when to eat to best nourish your adrenal glands.
3. Implement daily activities to love on your adrenal glands.
